S.O.S: The Jo Bros Reunite for New Release
By Olivia Troiano
Coming back from the year 3000, the Jonas Brothers are blessing our ears with new music in 2019. Get out your Tigerbeat magazines and repin your Disney channel posters because if you haven’t heard yet, the Jonas Brothers have reunited after 6 years to release a brand new track. As told in a recent interview on the Elvis Duran Show, the brothers shared the idea of a reunion back when filming a documentary together about their life story and why they took a break as a band. Also, this is technically the guys’ second comeback with their last two releases being in 2013, but it’s hard for early fans not to think of their catchy hits like “Lovebug”, “Year 3000” and the famously upbeat song “Burnin Up”. From Camp Rock to making cameos on other shows like Hannah Montana, or even their TV series Jonas, the reunion of Kevin, Nick, and Joe Jonas as a pop trio will definitely tug at some nostalgic heartstrings and the newest single gives supporters a revamped sound.
Released on March 1st, the single “Sucker” is an exciting and upbeat track that may just be added to your latest pop playlist. With a more electric sound of synthesized beats, the song is far from the nostalgic hits but it will for sure get you in a good mood and dancing. The single is accompanied with a music video which features all three significant others of the guys (Danielle Jonas, Priyanka Chopra, and Sophie Turner). Offering lavish visuals, the Jonas Brothers and leading ladies strut to the song about being a sucker for love. With the guys singing, “I’m a sucker for you,” this catchy chorus will be playing in your head on loop.
The Jonas Brothers mention in the Elvis Duran interview to expect more releases in the upcoming months and there’s already confirmation of a reunion tour happening (*cue fangirl screams). As Joe states, balancing Nick’s solo work, DNCE’s sound, and Kevin “bringing so much heart” into the process with what he’s done through the years, it’s important to “blend the three." With Ryan Tedder being the executive producer on the “body of work” they plan to put out (a.k.a get ready for an Album), the guys could not be more excited for a new chapter together in music.
As they take over the Late Late Show with James Corden and make other media appearances talking more about their comeback, the Jonas Brothers make fans eager for the future. After taking time off as a band, focusing on other musical endeavors, and growing as a family, the guys are back and stronger than ever. So hold onto your seats as the year 2019 has more Jonas Brothers excitement to come.
