On Saturday, March 23rd, party-goers walked into a sea of neon lights and glow sticks set up for an evening of student DJ sets. The theme was neon and the crowd did not disappoint, with girls in vibrant skirts and guys in bright white shirts lit up by the blacklight hung in the Mudpit basement.
Kuzi, a student DJ, opened the show, and the energy he produced caused people to immediately flood to the front and begin dancing the night away. Kuzi set the tone for a vivacious evening by utilizing a wide range of music, from some classic techno house to UK drill.
Throughout the night, a few bold party-goers took to the front of the room to showcase their best moves. The DJs seemed to feed off of this energy, and the intrepid dancers never failed to elevate the already high spirits of the crowd. The dancing and mingling continued throughout SU Senior Sam Marc Johnston’s set, which kept up the techno trend Kuzi had set off for the night.
Excitement was quickly building for the iconic FEƎM, who had been teasing their set earlier that night, posting “sounds for tonight” that included Olof Dreijer’s “Cassia” and Eris Drew’s “Show U Love.” FEƎM’s set kept the energy of the room high and the audience moving, with several friends dancing behind the booth with them. The fun bled into the early hours of the morning before people slowly made their way home and called it a night.
