Lennon Stella Delivers Solid Track "Golf on TV"

By Eden Laur

This past Friday, February 14, our ears were blessed with a single from the Nashville singer/songwriter, Lennon Stella. The track, titled “Golf on TV” featured JP Saxe, known for his song with Julia Michaels titled “If The World Was Ending.” This was a surprise for all of Stella’s loyal fans as the release was only announced on her Instagram, @lennonstella, a few days prior.

Stella has been working her career towards the pop-style production of music, although her focus earlier in her journey was more directed towards the display of her incredibly angelic vocals and clever, relatable lyrics. In November, she released “Kissing Other People,” which was a pop chart’s hit. Although “Golf on TV” is still classified as pop, the vibe and lyrics are more calming and better showcase her singing and writing talents.

The single is about how both Stella and JP Saxe can’t make sense about people desiring more than one relationship, just as they can’t make sense about people watching golf on TV. The song starts off with the lyrics explaining a situation in which she is falling for someone, and how well this person is treating her. The song progresses to go on talking about how other people can’t have just one love and treat one person in a special and unique way.

The verses are split up between each artist and the chorus includes harmonies between the two that are truly heart-warming. The song’s vibe reminds listeners of the music that she was writing and publishing around the release of her EP Love, Me which was shared with the world in the Fall of 2018.

Lennon Stella is a name you should know if you don’t already. You may remember her face as the ‘girl with the glasses’ in the ‘sister cup song’ posted on YouTube 7 years ago. Or you may know her as the older, rebellious sister from the ABC drama Nashville. If you do or don’t know her, you should still be keeping an eye out for her debut album to be released within the next few months, with surprise singles until then.
